Drenthe (1)

Somehow I forgot about these pictures. In October my boyfriend and I went to visit his two aunts, sisters from his mother. H. lives with her husband in Kibbelveen, in an old farm, where she and her sisters grew up. They breed horses.
Sister A. lives with her husband on an old farm in Nieuw- Zwinderen, that belonged to his family. It was a very nice day. We see them during birthdays, but we very much enjoyed seeing them at their own houses. These farms have a lot of charm. I took many pictures. The weather wasn't that great, lots of rain, so some pictures turned out a bit too dark. But I also like that, makes it even more nostalgic. In the last picture you see some of the trophees their horses won, the cupboard with all the cups was too blurry to show.

Wish you a happy Christmas and lots of fun this weekend!

Eva Schreuder is the initiator of this temporary shop in Leiden. Bonne went to Leiden yesterday to deliver work from her and me. I think I will pay a visit, I'm very curious about the other work. In my next post I will show work from Eva. She also showed her work in Eindhoven during the Dutch design Week at Meesterlijk. She makes beautiful work and had a wonderful presentation.

Curacao, shades of white

It's been a while since my last post, but that's because I just returned from a wonderful trip to Curacao, together with my boyfriend and his family.
The island was very wet, and although we had beautiful weather sometimes, it also rained a lot.
Probably still because of the hurricane Tomas. For Curacao the weather was extraordinary.
But luckily for us it didn't rain all day, so we could often relax at the beach (with big turtles swimming in the sea) and we made daytrips.

Each house is painted in bright colours, you hardly see white. So I thought it would be nice to start with these pictures. More pictures are coming soon.

(and I got some sad news while on holiday, there was a burglary in our shop. They stole a lot of jewelry from Bonne and me. I was very happy that Bonne took care of everything. We also got a letter saying the whole building, including our space will be sold in January. So we have to leave our tiny little shop. We both think something good will come out of this, we both wanted a bigger studio, so maybe it was time anyway for new plans. I'll keep you updated.)
